Lauryn Hill Returns To The Stage

THE FUGEES singer Lauryn Hill returned to the stage on August 21st 2010, as part of the Rock the Bells Tour in San Bernardino. The GRAMMY AWARD winning hip-hop artist was joined on the line-up by Snoop Dogg, Wu-Tang Clan, and A Tribe Called Quest. Hill has rarely made any live appearances since THE FUGEES played a reunion show in Hollywood in 2006. The band became internationally acclaimed after releasing their hit album The Score in 1996, which went six-times platinum in the US, selling over 18-million copies worldwide.

Backed by a six-piece band at the weekend, Hill began her set with variations of the hits Lost One, and Doo-Wop (That Thing). During the performance, the singer remarked, "It was 13 years ago I wrote a song about my son. August 3rd. Can you believe that? It's not necessarily easy, but it's beautiful", before playing Zion. Hill concluded her much-anticipated return with versions of THE FUGEES' classics Ready or Not, and Fugee La.

Hill's last album was her 1998 solo debut effort The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, but despite various recording sessions and an apparent wealth of unreleased material, she is still yet to finish the follow-up.
