Lauryn Hill Pleads Guilty To Tax Troubles
Prosecutors in New Jersey filed three counts against the Doo Wop (That Thing) hitmaker earlier this month (Jun12) amid allegations she owed more than $1.6 million (£1 million) in back taxes.
Hill recently addressed the claims, insisting she needed the funds to "sustain" her family during a "period of crisis", but on Friday (29Jun12) the former Fugees singer appeared in court to face the charges, admitting she "intentionally and willingly" neglected to file her financial papers, according to Tmz.com.
If convicted, Hill faces up to three years in jail and a $75,000 (£46,875) fine.
She was released on bail and is due to be sentenced in November (12).
