Laurence Fishburne Exits Csi As Hunt For Replacement Begins
The actor's exit leaves Csi producers in a tricky situation, given that shooting on the 12th season is scheduled to begin next month. Fishburne was considered a major coup for Cbs when he agreed to join the series in 2008, however, the last contract he signed only amounted to a one year extension. Csi producers were reportedly unsurprised by the actor's decision to quit, with one insider saying, "Nobody expected him to be on the show for 7 years, it's Laurence Fishburne". The 49-year-old, who played 'Dr Raymond Langston' on the show, will next be seen in Steven Soderbergh's thriller 'Contagion', about an international team of doctors who attempt to deal with the outbreak of the deadly disease. After ten-and-a-half seasons of airing on Thursday evening's at 9pm, Csi is moving to Wednesday nights at 10pm starting this fall.
Laurence Fishburne's last film role came in 2010 when he starred in the action-adventure movie 'Predators', with Adrien Brody and Topher Grace. He is perhaps best known for his role as 'Morpheus' in the Matrix movies.
