Lauren Alaina And Scotty Mccreery A Couple?

Lauren Alaina and SCOTTY MCCREERY responded to speculation that they are a couple following last night's American Idol final. Lauren and Scotty are rumoured to be dating, but the latter played down talk of a romantic relationship after scooping this year's 'Idol' crown.

According to Parade Magazine, Lauren had deflected questions about the couple's relationship, telling reporters to ask Scotty instead. After being announced as this year's 'American Idol' victor, Scotty was asked "Lauren said to ask you about whether or not you are dating", to which he replied, "She's a character isn't she? She really is. No, we're just really close friends. I met her day one of Hollywood week and we've grown really tight over the weeks because we've gone to school together, but I don't know about the dating part". MCCreery added that Alaina was "just being funny" when talking about the couple's relationship. The 17-year-old country sensation, who was heavily favoured to win this year's contest, was named American Idol winner after a record 122 million viewer votes. Speaking about plans for his debut album, MCCreery said, "I want to get some good songs. It's all about the songs after this. American Idol is a platform and helping us out and start our jobs".

Before releasing his first record, SCOTTY MCCREERY will tour with the top 11 finalists, including Lauren Alaina, JAMES DURBIN, Pia Toscano and Haley Reinhart.
