Chris Brown - Latest SWATTING Victim: Chris Brown Falls Foul Of Gun Hoax
Yesterday (January 21, 2013), Chris Brown was the latest victim of SWATTING, a worrying trend of hoax 911 calls that are sending SWAT teams to celebrity’s homes, only to find that there’s no crime being committed. According to TMZ, the cops rushed to Chris Brown’s home when they received a call to say that there was a domestic incident involving a gun. They did not tell the cops that it was Chris Brown’s pad.
The police had been told that a mother and father were fighting and that the father had gone upstairs to another room in the house to get a gun. The caller hung up at that point and police were dispatched. When the police arrived at Brown’s house in the Hollywood hills, they found no disturbance and no gun. And nor did they find a Chris Brown, because the R&B star wasn’t even at home at the time.
This incident is the latest in a string of ‘SWATTING” incidents (so called because it’s the SWAT teams that are dispatched). Last Friday, police received reports of a gunman at Kris Jenner and Bruce Jenner’s home but that also turned out to be a hoax. The calls are a serious waste of police time and whoever’s making the calls are breaking the law, so the cops are keen to catch whoever’s doing it.
