Skyfall has become the first Bond film to sail past $1 billion at the global box office.

The Sam Mendes movie, starring Daniel Craig as the iconic superspy, is only the third film of 2012 to break through the $1 billion barrier.

Skyfall has grossed $289.6 million (£181 million) in America and $701.6 million (£438.5 million) internationally, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The film has also become the first movie ever to cross the £100 million ($160 million) in the U.K.
