Mark Ruffalo, 41, says he was a late developer, but insists it has helped him be a better person in later life.
Mark Ruffalo couldn't wait to grow pubic hair.
The 'Shutter Island' actor was a late developer and spent endless hours wishing he had hit puberty.
He explained: "Things just seem to take me a little longer! I was the last to get pubic hair, the last to get a car. But it's always meant that by the time I've got where I'm going, I really know my stuff."
The 41-year-old actor worked for 10 years before getting his big break in 2000 Academy Award-nominated movie 'You Can Count On Me'.
However, he doesn't begrudge his lengthy rise to success, insisting it has made him especially grateful for his career.
He told Britain's Elle magazine: "Now, my confidence comes from all those years of working. I know what I'm doing. I don't know if I'm the most brilliant actor in the world, but I'll always give you something interesting. I'll promise you that."
