Larry Birkhead Testifies In Anna Nicole Smith Trial
LARRY BIRKHEAD - the father of ANNA NICOLE SMITH's daughter - has told a court the actress and model told him that she was not a drug addict but just in pain. Birkhead - testifying on the 19th August 2010 - said that he saw Smith taking a variety of prescription drugs, but that she had reassured him she wasn't addicted. Birkhead also disclosed that he once tried to hide her methadone, only to be told by HOWARD K STERN that she couldn't live without it, the Press Association reports.
Birkhead - a photographer and reporter - was joined in the court-room by two people who had once challenged him for the custody of Smith's child, one of them being Stern, with the other being VIRGIE ARTHUR, the model's mother.
On February 8th 2007, ANNA NICOLE SMITH was found dead in room 607 of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida. Following the seven-week investigation that ensued, the reason for her death was attributed to a 'combined drug intoxication'. Birkhead is set to take to the stand once again today in the trial of three people charged with supplying the late actress with an excessive amount of prescription drugs.
The actress' film debut came into 1994 when she played the role of Za Za in the COEN BROTHERS' movie The Hudsucker Proxy.
