Lamb Of God's Randy Blythe Finally Released On Bail From Czech Jail
It's far from over yet, but for Lamb of God front man Randy Blythe there is now, at least, light at the end of the tunnel after the singer was released on bail by Czech officials, following well over a month incarcerated in a Prague jail. To recap, Blythe is currently being prosecuted after a teenage fan of his band died following a gig that they played in the same city back in 2010; the 19 year-old in question had invaded the stage, only to be allegedly pushed away by the vocalist, he fell off the stage and cracked his head on the concrete, sadly passing away in hospital.
As soon as Lamb Of God touched down in the Czech Republic in June, officials arrested Blythe over the incident, and since then he's repeatedly struggled to gain bail. However, following a payment of $289,000, he has now been released without charge and will be allowed to return home, although the prosecution is still continuing. A statement, reported by Afp, read "The decision was taken yesterday (Thursday) at 4 pm (1400 Gmt) during a hearing. The court confirmed that eight million koruna in bail money was deposited."
Blythe has always maintained his innocence during the whole ordeal, with support coming in for him from around the world of heavy rock and metal.
