Lamb Of God - Lamb Of God Fans Planning Court Vigil For Randy Blythe
Lamb Of God fans are planning to stage a mass demonstration outside the U.S. Supreme Court in support of jailed singer Randy Blythe.
The rocker has been incarcerated in the Czech Republic since last month (Jun12) when he was arrested in Prague in connection with the death of a fan two years ago (10).
The rocker remains behind bars on a manslaughter charge as his lawyers fight for bail to be granted and his supporters are planning to voice their anger at his continued incarceration by protesting in Washington, D.C. on Sunday (22Jul12) outside America's highest court.
Blythe is due in court in Prague on Thursday (19Jul12) and Tommy Streat, the organiser of the vigil, hopes the event will turn into a party if the star is released.
He tells the Richmond Times-Dispatch, "Hopefully, we'll be welcoming him home. But if not, we'll be sending the message that (we) will support him."
The news comes as a petition asking U.S. President Barack Obama to intervene is gaining momentum. The petition, posted on Whitehouse.gov, has gained 10,000 signatures in the eight days since its creation.
Bythe is accused of pushing a young male man off stage at the band's gig in Prague in 2010. The 19-year-old fan reportedly died of a brain haemorrhage two weeks later.
