Lady Gaga's Ex Spurred Her On To Succeed

The Poker Face hitmaker has dominated music charts across the world since the release of her debut single Just Dance in 2008.

She has landed a total of six Grammy Award nominations to date, claiming two of the prestigious honours at last month's (Jan10) ceremony - and it's all thanks, in part, to a bitter former lover.

She tells Cosmopolitan magazine, "I had a boyfriend who told me I'd never succeed, never be nominated for a Grammy, never have a hit song, and that he hoped I'd fail.

"I said to him, 'Someday, when we're not together, you won't be able to order a cup of coffee at the f**king deli without hearing or seeing me.'"
