Lady Gaga - Lady Gaga Visits White House For Bullying Showdown Talks

Lady Gaga is to continue her admirable crusade against bullying as she heads to the highest summit of them all, the White House in Washington DC. There she'll be meeting officials of public engagement "to talk about the important issue of bullying," a spokesperson told Cbs News.
Gaga has done a lot to combat bullying ever since one of her fans, 14 year-old Jamey Rodemeyer tragically died earlier this year as a result of peer abuse; upon hearing of the news she'd Tweeted "The past days I've spent reflecting, crying, and yelling. I have so much anger. It is hard to feel love when cruelty takes someone's life." Since then the 25 year-old superstar has been on somewhat of a promotional whirlwind, but hasn't forgotten about the incident and, recently, set up the Born This Way Foundation. Mtv reported a statement from Gaga upon its launch, which said "My mother and I have initiated a passion project. We call it the Born This Way Foundation. Together we hope to establish a standard of Bravery and Kindness, as well as a community worldwide that protects and nurtures others in the face of bullying and abandonment."
Now, with a meeting set up at the White House today (December 6, 2011) it's clear that Gaga seeks to make good on that aim, even if she's set to launch a mammoth 450 date world tour next year.
