Lady Gaga - Lady Gaga Unveils Epic 14 Minute Marry The Night Video
Lady Gaga launched a 14 minute long video for new single 'Marry The Night', her directorial debut, though with the Grammy Award nominations also being announced this week, what would've once been a show stopping event appears to have taken backseat to the furore surrounding British singer Adele in the wake of her six nominations for the awards, including coming up against Gaga in 'Best Pop Solo Performance' and 'Best Pop Vocal Album'.
Reuters reports that Gaga's epic, which outstrips even the near 10 minute film that accompanied the star's 'Telephone' collaboration with Beyonce in 2009, sees the star going to the hospital, dying her hair blue and - for what anyone else would be bizarrely - throwing Cheerios over her naked body. This is all before the song's even started by the way and takes about eight minutes for anyone with an eye on the fast forward button. The story of the film, Gaga reportedly told E!, was representing the day when her first record company dropped her, saying that it was "one of the worst days of my life", though also emphasising the comedy aspects of the video - of which there are many.
Gaga's had a hugely successful year again in 2011, wrapping up her Monster's Ball tour only in May after some two years on the road; 'Born This Way', the star's third studio album, debuted at number One in the US Billboard charts meanwhile, selling over 1 million copies in its first week. However, she's since had to yield to the phenomenal breakthrough of Adele, whose '21' album has sold more than 13 million copies worldwide.
