Lady GaGa sent a confusing message out to her fans last week (April 10, 2012), regarding her diet and exercise regime for her tour. The message read "Just killed back to back spin classes. Eating a salad dreaming of a cheeseburger #PopSingersDontEat #IWasBornThisWay" and it's not the first time she's posted messages about her gruelling workout regime, with other messages saying "Listened to "Creep" today while working out" on April 13 and "Off to rehearsal! Running the show, my muscles hurt today. #NoPainNoGlory."

It's no secret that pop stars need to stay in shape to meet the demands of a grueling concert schedule but the "PopSingersDontEat" hashtag is a worrying one, and certainly seems to contradict the message that Gaga tries to send out with the Born This Way Foundation that she recently set up. The foundation aims "to foster a more accepting society, where differences are embraced and individuality is celebrated." Gaga has admitted in the past that she has suffered with eating disorders but, when she addressed the 'It's Our Turn' conference, her advice to young girls was "I'm gonna say this about girls: The dieting has got to stop. Everyone just knock it off. Because at the end of the day, it's affecting kids your age and it's making girls sick." Fine advice, but certainly a contradiction to her Twitter message and it's led to troublesome accusations of anorexia in the press.

Lady Gaga isn't the only high profile star to be accused of having an eating disorder, recently. Miley Cyrus posted a message on her own Twitter page recently to reassure her followers that she was not anorexic but had lost weight because of a healthy, gluten free diet.
