Fur lover Lady GaGa has been blasted by animal rights group PETA after she was spotted buying fur coats in Russia.
Lady GaGa has been slammed by PETA for buying fur coats.
The animal rights group - People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals - have slammed the 'Poker Face' hitmaker after she was spotted at the Helen Yarmak boutique in Moscow where she splashed out on several expensive fur coats.
PETA said in a statement to GossipCop: ''Out of place, out of time, and possibly out of her mind: While the country focuses on rejecting violence and we are deep into the season of peace, giving, and kindness, Gaga is busy decking herself out in a coat made of at least 30 slaughtered animals' skins.''
At one time Gaga took a stand against wearing animal skin, stepping out in a jacket made from Kermit the Frog puppets, an ironic statement against the fur trade.
However, she appears to have changed her stance, and recently said she would no longer comment on whether she wore fur or not.
She wrote on her website: ''I am choosing not to comment on whether or not the furs I purchase are faux fur-pile or real because I would think it hypercritical not to acknowledge the python, ostrich, cow hide, leather, lamb, alligator, 'kermit' and not to mention meat, that I have already worn.
''You see a carcass, I see a museum piece de resistance.''
Gaga has also attacked PETA's campaign against fur for it use of shock tactics.
She wrote: ''I want you to know that I care deeply about your feelings and views, and I will always support your philosophies about life.
''I do not however support violent, abusive, and childish campaigns for ANY CAUSE. Particularly one that I respect. Animal Rights (sic).''
