Lady Gaga Set To Mentor American Idol Final Five
Gaga will be mentoring the 'Idol' hopefuls during 'Leiber & Stoller' week, which will see contestants tackling the musical duo's hits 'Jailhouse Rock', 'Yakety Yak' and 'Hound Dog'. Gaga's spot as a guest-mentor comes just two weeks before she releases her highly anticipated second album 'Born This Way'. Haley Reinhart performed a version of the singer's unreleased track 'You and I' on Wednesday's show and was given glowing feedback from the all-star judges. Previous mentors on this season's show have included the Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.I.AM and country artist Sheryl Crow. Idol host Ryan Seacrest announced the news via his Twitter page following last night's elimination show, saying, "I only have one word for our mentor on American Idol next week.......... Gaga".
23-year-old soul singer Jacob Lusk was eliminated during yesterday's results show. The Compton born artist was criticised by record executive Jimmy Lovine for his performance of Jordin Sparks' 'No Air' on Wednesday's show. Lusk had often been compared to the late R&B singer LUTHER VANDROSS.
