Lady Gaga - Lady Gaga Pulls Kendrick Lamar Collaboration

08 October 2012

Lady GaGa has pulled a song she recorded with rising rapper Kendrick Lamar from his debut album after refusing to allow his label bosses to "compromise" her music.

The pop superstar struck up an odd friendship with Lamar earlier this year (12) and they hit the studio together to record the track Partynauseous over the summer (12).

The tune was expected to appear on the hip-hop newcomer's upcoming release good kid, m.A.A.d city, but the title was missing from the album when the tracklisting was released earlier this month (Oct12).

Gaga has now opened up about the reason behind the song's absence, blaming a disagreement with executives at Lamar's labels Aftermath Entertainment and Interscope Records for her decision to scrap the song.

However, the Poker Face hitmaker insists she bears no ill will towards Lamar's team and has encouraged her own fans to pick up the album when it's released later this month (Oct12).

In a blog post on her LittleMonsters.com website, she writes, "I apologize to the fans that this situation with Partynausous (sic) is confusing. To it clear it up I must explain this. When I collaborate with an artist I work solely with them, not with their camps or management. Its (sic) purely organic and creative.

"I love Kendrick dearly as a friend, but was not willing to compromise musically to the changes his team was making to my music.

"This is why I am not (on) his record. I have a very specific vision as a producer and songwriter, and I always have. That song will be released at a different time, for a different project. I love you, and think you should check out his stuff because he is truly great."
