Lady Gaga Has Winning Hand In Us Singles Chart
The single by the New York singer topped the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart this week after 15 weeks on release.
Her debut single Just Dance - like Poker Face, a UK number one - took even longer to reach the summit of the US charts, having spent five months in the Hot 100 before it spent three weeks at number one.
The 23-year-old - real name Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta - becomes the first artist since Christina Aguilera to top the Billboard Hot 100 with her first two singles.
Aguilera achieved the feat in 1999 and 2000 with Genie in a Bottle and What A Girl Wants.
Hitting the top spot with Poker Face makes Lady GaGa one of only four female artists to start their careers with two US number one singles in the last 25 years, with Tiffany and Mariah Carey also achieving back-t0-back debut chart-toppers.
Flo Rida's Right Round fell one place to second while Blame It, the new single from actor/singer Jamie Foxx, climbed two places to number five.
The top five songs in the US Billboard Hot 100 are: (last week's position)
1 Lady GaGa: Poker Face (2)
2 Flo Rida feat. Kesha : Right Round (1)
3 Soulja Boy Tell'em feat. Sammie: Kiss Me Thru the Phone (3)
4 TI feat. Justin Timberlake: Dead and Gone (4)
5 Jamie Foxx feat. T-Pain: Blame It (7)
