Hillary Scott, the lead singer of country outfit Lady Antebellum, is expecting her first child with husband Chris Tyrrell, unveiling the good news via her Twitter this Friday (Dec 7).

The singer and Tyrrell, who plays drums in country group Love and Theft, tied the knot in January this year and have since been far too busy with their professional lives to get down to business in the bedroom properly. However, as Scott says in her Tweet, Christmas came early for the two this year with a little addition to the family expected in summer 2013.

Scott wrote on her Twitter: "Chris & I are excited to announce that our Christmas gift has arrived a little early this year! We are having a BABY! We feel so blessed!!!"

Regardless of the good news, that by no means signals that Scott is slowing things down, with the singer currently in Las Vegas readying herself for Mondays's American Country Awards, where the band are set to perform. As well as performing, the trio may also walk away with a few awards themselves, as they are up for a whopping six awards on the night, including Artist and Album of the Year. Heres hoping that Scott gets another early Christmas present or two come Monday night.
