Kylie And Robbie 'Set For Brits'

by | 20 September 2007

Organisers of next year's Brit Awards are reportedly lining up Kylie Minogue and Robbie Williams.

According to the Sun, the diminutive Australian pop princess has agreed to perform at the 2008 show, having decided against co-hosting it this year.

And if that was not enough of a coup to draw TV viewers, it is also reported that Robbie Williams is going to make a dramatic return to the UK music scene.

According to the newspaper's Bizarre column, Brits bosses are planning to have the former Take That singer emerge from a coffin to signify his 'coming back from the dead'.

Robbie has spent much of the last two years keeping a low profile in the US and his most recent album, Rudebox, was panned by critics and ignored by many fans.

"Kylie is a huge coup," a show source told the paper.

"She always steals the show, gives a dazzling performance and the viewers at home love her. The idea for Robbie to turn up and rise out of a coffin is not a done deal yet."

Last year's awards ceremony was broadcast live for the first time since 1989, and saw Amy Winehouse and James Morrison pick up the best male and female solo artists respectively.

Oasis were awarded an outstanding contribution gong and Arctic Monkeys picked up the best album and best band awards.

Patience by Take That was voted best single, but the Valentine's Day show coincided with the news that Robbie, who had decided against joining the reformed band, had checked into rehab.
