Kristofferson And Jennings Make Rockwalk
KRIS KRISTOFFERSON and the late country singer WAYLON JENNINGS were inducted into Hollywood's Rockwalk yesterday (06JUL06). Songwriter Kristofferson was honoured for his hits including ME AND BOBBY MCGEE and HELP ME MAKE IT THROUGH THE NIGHT. His close friend Jennings, who enjoyed a successful musical career with songs such as RAMBLIN' MAN and FOUR STRONG WINDS, died in 2002. Kristofferson described his late pal as an "angry, funny, burning creative spirit". The 70-year-old said before the ceremony on Sunset Boulevard, "I wish Waylon were here to enjoy it, or hate it. I guess if you hang around long enough they give you these things. I guess it's an honour." Jennings' widow JESSI COLTER made an appearance on behalf her late husband.
