Kristin Chenoweth has returned to her Southern roots for forthcoming album 'Some Lessons Learned'.
The 43-year-old singer - who is from Oklahoma - is set to release a country record, but admitted she was not even going to record tracks in the genre until songwriter Diane Warren encouraged her to.
The blonde beauty told The Advocate: "She heard me do a track of Carrie Underwood's for 'Glee' called 'Last Name', and she said, 'You're a country artist.' I said, 'I do feel that, but I'm afraid I won't be accepted.' She said, 'This is part of who you are. Go for it.' "
Kristin admitted she was probably the "freak" of her hometown Broken Arrow because she liked opera and was a big fan of 'Sound of Music' star Julie Andrews.
She added: "I was probably the freak in Broken Arrow, because I loved opera.
"My parents played all kinds of music. I was a huge Julie Andrews fan, and I loved all the cast albums. I also listened to Beethoven and Chopin."
