Kristen Stewart - Kristen Stewart's Twilight Wedding Dress, On Sale For $799
The official replica of Kristen Stewart 's Twilight wedding dress, which her character Bella wears during her nuptials to Edward in Breaking Dawn Part 1, is on sale for $799. Wedding retailer Alfred Angelo is looking to capitalise on the huge success of the movie, and is offering a version of the original Carolina Herrera dress to customers.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Angelo began working closely with Summit Entertainment - the makers of the Twilight movie - to recreate the dress in time for the November premiere. Kept under a veil of secrecy, the dress was shipped secretly to stores and was only seen by around four people, including designer Michael Shettel, during its production. Photographs of the dress hit the web today (22 November, 2011) and the gown is now available in Alfred Angelo stores nationwide. Made of long lacy sleeves with a Chantilly-inspired lace applique trim, the gown is almost an exact replica of the one Stewart wears in Breaking Dawn Part 1 - which grossed a phenomenal $140 million during its opening weekend.
Speaking about the production of the dress, designer Shettel claimed the price tag was the biggest headache, saying, "There were pricing issues to try to get it down to $799. That was the biggest issue more than design issues". Alfred Angelo will be hoping to emulate the success of the 'Princess Kate' gown, that was rolled out on the back of the Royal Wedding in April this year. New York fashion store Faviana produced the dress, which closely mimicked the Sarah Burton creation that Middleton wore at Westminster Abbey.
