Kristen Stewart's family didn't want her to star in films no one would see.

The 20-year-old actress admits her family were pleased when she won the part of Bella Swan in vampire movie series 'The Twilight Saga' because they didn't want her to work on projects people wouldn't see.

She said: "My mother was so excited when I got the 'Twilight' gig.

"My whole family were. Before 'Twilight' they were like, 'Why are you doing all these Sundance movies that no one will see?' "

The young star - who is believed to be in a relationship with her 'Twilight' co-star Robert Pattinson - also admits she struggles to deal with the fame her role in the movie has given her.

She told the Daily Telegraph newspaper: "It is weird with the paparazzi. We are not on the top of the paparazzi list, but it is definitely tougher for Rob.

"I'm quite shy and people think I'm aloof. I get that all the time, 'She should not be in this position because she can't handle it,' and, 'She is stuck up and doesn't want to talk to anybody. She is miserable, and if you are miserable stop doing it.'

"But do you have a choice? I want to be an actor, I am just not very comfortable talking about myself."
