Rocker Lenny Kravitz embraced Scottish culture for a recent gig in Glasgow - wearing a kilt on stage and throwing his underwear into the audience.
The Believe hitmaker wanted to make a good impression on his Scottish fans, so before his gig at Glasgow's 02 Academy on Thursday (25Jun09) he took a trip to leading kiltmaker Howie Nicholsby of 21st Century Kilts.
Kravitz's managers were concern the rocker's energetic antics on stage might reveal too much if he followed the Scottish tradition of wearing a kilt without underwear, and encouraged him to use a lining to protect his modesty.
Luckily Kravitz chose a heavy leather kilt that was in no danger of blowing into the air.
Nicholsby says, "I advised Lenny not to go commando (without underwear) for his gig. Lenny is a real mover and he's got to have security with his clothing."
Kravitz followed Nicholsby's advice, but got carried away during his performance and decided to whip his underwear off and throw it into the crowd.
