Best-selling author DEAN KOONTZ is bringing his upcoming novel THE HUSBAND to the big screen. The film will follow an ordinary man whose love for his wife is put to a harrowing series of tests over a 60-hour period, beginning when his peaceful workday is shattered by a phone call from a stranger. The book will be released in the US in May (06) and the movie is being fast-tracked at Focus Features. The film company also released Oscar-winners Brokeback Mountain and The Constant Gardener and Koontz is optimistic the experienced team will succeed where others haven't. He says, "I have not been wildly happy with adaptations that have occurred. "I've felt that the books were reduced to the lowest common denominator and an action line that may not be like mine. "I feel very confident in turning this project over to (Focus Features)."
