Knight 'Disappointed' By Silent West At Deposition
The former Death Row Records boss claims he attended West's pre-MTV Video Music Awards bash at a Miami, Florida nightclub in 2005, where an unknown person shot him in the leg - shattering a bone. He also alleges he was robbed of a $135,000 (£90,000) diamond earring.
He filed a lawsuit against against West in 2008, claiming the Stronger hitmaker is to blame for the incident after security checks allegedly failed to stop a gun being smuggled into the venue.
At the deposition in New York on Friday, West allegedly refused to offer any information to Knight's legal team during the six-hour proceedings and denied he had any involvement in the security arrangements.
Knight's lawyer, Marc Brumer, tells New York Post gossip column Page Six, "He basically put his hands over his head and didn't say anything for six hours. He evidently doesn't know anything about anything, despite the fact that he hosted the party."
Knight adds to the Associated Press, "I figured I could sit him down, man to man, and get this resolved. I'm disappointed."
He is seeking $1 million (£666,000) in damages from West, including $200,000 (£133,000) in medical bills.
