Knievel Plans New Year's Jump

Stuntman ROBBIE KNIEVEL is to honour the 40th anniversary of his legendary dad's New Year's Eve (31Dec) Las Vegas hotel jump by attempting to clear the Mirage hotel volcano in Sin City.

The daredevil will ring in 2009 with an early morning jump as part of U.S. TV special New Year's Eve Live, which will also feature performances from American Idol winner David Cook and rocker Scott Weiland.

The late Evel Knievel made his historic New Year's jump at Caesar's Palace in 1968.
