Kirstie Alley Blames Petra For Mishap

Kirstie Alley - Dancing With The Stars contestant Kirstie Alley has blamed professional dancer Petra Nemcova for her mishap on Monday's show (11th April 2011). Kirstie Alley lost her shoe during this week's routine and scored just 22 out of a possible 30 with the judges, reports People Magazine.

After taking a tumble on last week's show, Alley's shoe came off during her waltz routine with Maksim Chmerkovskiy on Monday. Speaking after the performance, Alley joked, "I do think it's a conspiracy. I think that the other girls came into my dressing room and tampered with my shoe. And I'm not going to name any names ... Petra". Although Kirstie was making light of the situation, she later spoke seriously about her unfortunate error, saying, "Honestly, there were several mistakes that I made before that but when he spun me, my shoe just came off. I could have danced barefoot but it was hooked to my ankle so I couldn't get it off and I couldn't keep it on". After a strong start to the competition, which saw her top the leader-board after the season opener, Alley has struggled to match fellow competitors such as Hines Ward and Ralph Macchio.

Despite her wardrobe malfunction, Kirstie Alley was once again saved by the public on last night's results show. Former world championship winning boxer Sugar Ray Leonard was instead given the boot.

I'm really glad the voting fans got it right. Sugar Ray was the weakest link. I would consider Kendra as the 'dark horse', and Hines Ward, the one to beat. This is a very talented bunch of celebrities, and anyone can win it. On another note, a reminder to the 'Pros' that this is a 'couples dance' competition, and not a 'solo' performance competition. Many of you 'Pros' also tend to overshadow your celebrity counterpart. In order to make your celebrity counterpart look good, you must perform at their level. On another note to the producers of 'DWTS', there is just too much choreographed 'solo' performances being performed as entertainment. This is not dancing. If you really want to put on a show, get Benji and Lacey Schwimmer to put on a 'West coast' dance routine that will just blow away everybody. How about a country 2step demo by our world champions? Last, but not least, the judges 'station' needs to be moved off the dance floor, and elevated down to chair level when judging and then elevated back up when evaluating the celebrities., I'm really glad the voting fans got it right. If you watch the show again on abc.go.com while Ralph Macchio is being interviewed, in the background you can see Kirstie fooling with her shoe, the one that gave her problems. It even looks like she asks Chelsea Hightower to help her with the buckle. So, my question is, Was this just a coincidence or is Kirstie playing some kind of game?
