Kings Of Leon will release their new album in September.

The 'Sex on Fire' hitmakers - have completed work on the ''youthful'' record, which they claim will sound like a cross between 2003 debut 'Youth & Young Manhood' and 2007's third album 'Because of the Times'.

Bassist Jared Followill told NME magazine: ''I thought we were going to make a really mature album but I'm amazed at how youthful it sounds.

''It's like a mix of 'Youth & Young Manhood' and 'Because of the Times'.''

Jared refused to confirm the title of the album but admitted that, like previous Kings of Leon records, it will have five syllables.

Work began on the album - which is a follow-up to 2010's 'Come Around Sundown' - last year but Jared admitted in October 2012 they weren't planning to rush into releasing it.

He said: ''We're currently in the writing process and it is progressing quite rapidly.

''We will definitely go into the studio, but don't plan to be finished this year - but definitely next year.

''People will hear from us sooner rather than later.''
