Kim Kardashian Strikes First Blow In Kris Humphries Divorce Case – Court Date Annouced
The Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries divorce case is nearing climax following the announcement of a May 6 trial date by the presiding Judge, Scott Gordon.
This represents ‘first blow’ for Kardashian as Humphries’ reasons for more time were two-fold; he has basketball games to play, and other contractual obligations to fulfil, and, as his lawyer Marshall Waller explained, "This is a fraud case. It really is. And that is a case that takes a lot of time to develop. We are not ready to go forward. We do need more time." Kardashian's attorney, Laura Wasser dismissed that, saying "Sometimes litigants had to miss a day or two of work," while also stating that "We are not asking for special treatments, and we believe arguments made by [Humphries'] side are without merit." So it would appear that Kardashian has triumphed in round 1, but Judge Gordon, with his experience in high profile cases, having judged on the Britney Spears divorce, won’t let that affect the court case in May.
Wasser also told E! News that the next that the next court date is set for on April 12. This will be a mandatory settlement conference required by law, and that both Kardashian and Humphries are required to attend. So, whether you’re team Kim or Team Kris, we’ll see you with an update then!
