Khan's Relief At Ex's Release
Cricket legend and political campaigner Imran Khan, who divorced Jemima in 2004, was among more than 3,000 opponents of President Pervez Musharraf freed on Thursday (22Nov07), after five days' imprisonment. Their release comes as Pakistan's government hinted the military leader could stand down as head of the armed forces within days.
The 54-year-old - who had vowed to fast to death after his arrest last week (18Nov07) - was released from a jail in southern Punjab.
Jemima, 33, says, "We're all very relieved, especially since this means he can now end his hunger strike. He's keen to make the point that although he's free, there are many more innocent people who are still in jail... He'll now be able to protest more actively again."
