B - Keyshia Cole Lashes Out At Beyonce Over Bow Down Lyrics
R&B singer Keyshia Cole has taken aim at BEYONCE over her new song BOW DOWN's boastful lyrics.
The Halo hitmaker unveiled the new material on her website on Sunday (17Mar13), debuting two tracks which had been merged into one, named Bow Down/I Been On.
Fans have embraced the fresh tunes, but not everyone is happy with the words to Bow Down - and Cole is one of the critics who appear to have taken offence to lines like, "I know when you were little girls/ You dreamt of being in my world/ Don't forget it, don't forget it/ Respect that, bow down, b**ches".
The outspoken singer took to her Twitter.com page after hearing the song and lashed out at the pop superstar for appearing to put her peers down.
Cole raged, "Can't stand when people all self-righteous when it's convenient it makes them look good. Lmao (laughing my a** off)! But can still talk s**t when convenient 2 Foh (F**k outta here). I done kept it real from the start! #RespectThat.
"First 'Women need to Stick together' now b**ches better Bow. Smh (Shaking my head). But it's all G (good)! Chicks stay shooting the s**t. But when I speak my mind its a prob. #Well #StayMad (sic)".
Her messages prompted some Beyonce devotees to hit back, with one Twitter user writing, "If @KeyshiaCole put as much energy in her struggle music as she did twitter beefing (fighting) she would be as successful as Beyon (sic)."
It's not the first time Cole has courted controversy when it comes to Beyonce - she made it clear she was not a fan of her Destiny's Child bandmate Michelle Williams after their reunion at the Super Bowl in New Orleans, Louisiana last month (Feb13), tweeting, "I think I was frightened to blink for a sec. Then Michelle sung and woke my a** up from my daze! She always f**kN (sic) the groove up".
Both Williams and her bandmate Kelly Rowland took the high road in the dispute with Cole and instead brushed off her comments. Beyonce has yet to address any of Cole's remarks.
