Kevin Sorbo - Kevin Sorbo Spent Three Months Relearning To Walk After Strokes
Actor Kevin Sorbo spent four months relearning how to walk after suffering a series of strokes while shooting his hit Tv series Hercules in the late 1990s.
The hunk awoke one day with blurry vision so he headed to the hospital, where doctors discovered he had suffered an aneurysm in an artery near his shoulder, which had been producing blood clots for some time.
He struggled with the health problem in secret and only went public with the news in 2011, and now Sorbo reveals his medical scare was far more serious than he originally let on.
Speaking about his recovery, he tells U.S. breakfast show Today, "It took four months of rehab to learn how to walk again. It took three, four years to recover."
But the 54 year old feels lucky his speech wasn't permanently affected - or else he would have had to also relearn how to speak: "I had four strokes actually... That (last) one (blood clot) dissolved on the way to the hospital at Cedars-Sinai (in Los Angeles)... That one was (affecting my)... speech... I'm pretty fortunate."
