Kelsey Grammer - Kelsey Grammer's Wife Gives Birth

The former Frasier star became a father to little Faith Evangeline Elisa Grammer in the early hours of Friday (13Jul12).

In a statement, the couple tells People.com, "We are thrilled. Mother and child are in excellent health."

However, the celebrations were tinged with sadness - Walsh had previously been expecting twins.

The press release continues, "We were ecstatic earlier this year, when we announced that Kayte was carrying twins. Tragically we lost the little boy shortly thereafter.

"This was not something we cared to make known publicly at the time. It was unspeakably painful and we know that people will understand our desire to keep the news private then, as we know they will respect our privacy in this matter now.

"A glorious birth with a lingering sadness is ours today. We choose to celebrate the life that has been given us. We proudly introduce our Faith to the world today looking forward to the days ahead and the children yet to come."

It was the second heartbreak for Grammer and his British wife - Walsh suffered a miscarriage in late 2010.

The newborn is the actor's fifth child - he has two children with his third wife Camille, as well as two more from previous relationships.

Grammer and Walsh wed in February, 2011, and renewed their vows in Las Vegas last month (Jun12).
