Kelly Rowland has revealed to an American radio station that she’d played ‘Dirty Laundry’ to her Destiny’s Child band mate Beyonce – the song which she broke down performing in Washington DC earlier in the week and which references were friendship with Destiny’s Child band mate.

The song deals with her bitterness at Be’s comparative success against hers in their respective solo careers, following the hiatus of Destiny’s Child. Rowland told Washington’s 93.9 WKYS “I played it [Dirty Laundry] for her [Beyoncé] and Michelle [Williams].”  Continuing, she added that Beyonce’s reaction “was just like 'I never left.' Which was so sweet. It was endearing. She heard how real I was and she was just like "I’m so proud of you,"'.

Rowland also addressed her recent performance, which saw her break down in tears during the song. 'It’s really weird when you take yourself in front of a crowd” she commented. “Even in that moment of when I put my feet up, I felt like I was in therapy. I was singing and talking about what happened, and for a moment, it was like that crowd wasn’t even there. And then when the music stopped…I was like "You are live Kel. Calm down." She added “And I had to calm down, and in the moment, I had to breathe. You get lost…and it’s nothing wrong with getting lost. But that was weird. That won’t happen again though [laughs]. I felt like I could do that with D.C.”
