Kelly Price - Kelly Price: 'Whitney Was Healthy And Happy At Last Performance'

Kelly Price, the last singer to duet with Whitney Houston, has spoken out about her magical evening with the superstar on Thursday (09Feb12) in a bid to silence rumours suggesting her friend was spiralling out of control in her final days.
Price performed gospel song Yes, Jesus Loves Me with Houston at a pre-Grammys party staged by musician/producer Kenny Lattimore at Tru Hollywood in Los Angeles and she admits the tragic star will always be a "church girl" to her.
The gospel singer is keen for music fans all over the world to remember Houston for her great talent, and not the circumstances surrounding her death on Saturday (11Feb12).
Reports suggest the singer may have drowned in the bathtub of her suite at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Police have ruled out foul play but sources have told Tmz.com that pill bottles were found in Houston's hotel room. The singer had twice entered rehab for a drug abuse problem.
But Price tells Rolling Stone magazine she doesn't think her friend was struggling with abuse issues when she performed with her on Thursday.
She says, "Things people want to allude to are not what I saw. There was no craziness going on, absolutely none of it. It was a great musical event. And honestly, I'm saying it because her daughter was there with her, my two children were there with me. It was an atmosphere that lent itself to being OK for our kids to be there. So that's what was going on.
"She came down, and we had a ball like we always do. We laughed, danced, sang and cried and talked about the stuff that we talk about - the kids, life outside of the business. It was good, she was good. It was great, she had a good time, she was happy."
Adding hers to the long list of celebrity tributes, Price adds, "She was not just a phenomenal singer, she was an amazing person. She was very giving, she would give you her last.
"Thursday night is the way she absolutely deserves to be remembered, celebrating somebody else because she loved them and she wasn't afraid to put somebody else forward."
