Katy Perry Heading To A Cinema Near You, In 3-D
Part of Me is named after Perry's new single, which debuted at No.1 on Billboard's Hot 100 recently. The movie will be released in most U.S. cinemas on July 5 2012, and is produced by Perry herself and directed by Jane Lipsitz and Dan Cutforth. In a statement, the Teenage Dream star said she was excited to "reveal the highs and lows and nuts and bolts of this extraordinary ride. I promise you, after seeing this film, you will truly know me". The trailer seems to suggest the 'lows' will include the breakdown of her marriage to British comedian Russell Brand, as well as the struggles and pressures of being a pop star. Other subjects set to be tackled include her well-publicized religious upbringing. Paramount described the film as "the first big screen look at Perry's life and 124 performances on her tour".
The film comes hot on the heels of Justin Bieber's 2011 3-D movie 'Never Say Never', which grossed around $31.1 million at the box office. MILEY CYRUS' 3-D concert film Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert is still considered to be the most successful music documentary of all time.| Comment on this article |
