Katy Perry has completed the transition from jet black to blonde, after she got over her difficult, albeit short-lived, 'ginger phase'. Katy Perry had recently labelled her month-long experiment with ginger hair an #epicfail on Twitter, according to People magazine, and on Thursday appeared on MTV news sporting new blonde locks. The I Kissed a Girl star is known for her trademark jet black hair, but is actually a natural blonde.

Perry's new look comes as she is celebrating being nominated for an amazing nine Mtv Awards including Video of the Year, Best Female Video, and Best Pop Video, according to the Daily Mail. She just pipped UK songstress Adele, who is hot on her heels with seven nominations. Perry has been expressing her excitement about this on Twitter: "OMG! I just got word that I'm nominated for 9 Mtv VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS!!! I'm kinda speechless/nervous/turned on! NOW it's up to YOU to VOTE!" She later tweeted: "I can't sleep...I'm so excited... It feels like every birthday/christmas/first kiss I ever had. Thanks so much for believing in me. I owe u." Perry also revealed in the Mtv news interview that blonde was the colour she'd been striving for all along.
