Former glamour model Katie Price has made "the biggest mistake" of her life and is desperate to reconcile with husband Peter Andre.

Katie Price has made "the biggest mistake" of her life.

The British glamour model is desperate to reunite with her husband Peter Andre - who told her he wants to end their three-year marriage - so they can be a family again.

She said to Britain's News of the World newspaper: "If only I could turn back the clock. I've made the biggest mistake of my life and it's all my own fault.

"If I'd have known I was driving Pete away so badly I would have pulled myself back. I don't want a divorce, I just want us back as a family again."

Just days earlier Katie met with divorce expert Fiona Shackleton - who represented Prince Charles and Sir Paul McCartney during their divorces - to help protect her multimillion pound empire during the separation.

But the 31-year-old star - who reportedly changed the locks on their mansion and threw out Peter's belongings - has changed her mind and is now determined to save their marriage.

She added: "I'll take Pete back tomorrow. I'll drop the divorce if he gives me another chance."

However, friends of the couple say it is too late for them to reconcile.

One said: "Pete never wanted this to happen and it took a lot for him to walk away. At the moment there is no way back and I don't see that changing."

Meanwhile, singer Peter - who raises Junior, three, 23-month-old Princess Tiaamii and stepson Harvey, seven with Katie - is coping with the split better now he has seen his children.

He told Britain's Sunday Mirror newspaper: "I am OK now I'm with my babies. It's been a really tough couple of weeks but being with them is the best tonic in the world. It makes everything better."

Peter, 36, was emotional as took Junior and Princess to an East Sussex seaside yesterday (23.04.09). It was the first time he had seen them since he told Katie he was leaving her.

He said: "I missed them so much when they were away from me - it was by far the worst part of what happened. But today has helped me to forget all the negative stuff. All I want now is to have a fun day with them."
