Katie Price Backs Jeans For Genes Campaign

Katie Price thinks it is ''really important'' to support the Jeans for Genes campaign.

The former glamour model - whose 10-year-old son Harvey suffers from septo-optic dysplasia, which has affected his eyesight, as well as having behavioural problems, autism and mobility difficulties - is happy to back the campaign, which urges people to wear jeans to work on October 5 in exchange for a charity donation.

People can also buy a T-shirt which has been specially designed for the organisation.

She said: ''As I'm a mother of a child with a genetic disability, being involved with Jeans for Genes this year was really important for me. So many people are affected by genetic disabilities and they really do need help and support.

''Genetic disabilities also need awareness as there are so many different types, people need to understand just how many people this affects. Everyone can help by buying a T-shirt or wearing their jeans on Jeans for Genes Day.''

Amanda Holden, former 'Made In Chelsea' star Caggie Dunlop, actress Michelle Keegan and 'The Only Way Is Essex's Lauren Pope are also backing the campaign and have been pictured wearing this year's T-shirt, which was designed by Bradley Harper from the London College of Fashion, and will be available to buy throughout July and August with proceeds going to Jeans for Genes Day.

Amanda said: ''Jeans for Genes is a charity I have supported for many years now. The work they do is invaluable and makes such a difference. I think it's really important not only for genetic disabilities to be freely talked about and made more widely known, but also for people to help do something about it and actually go out and buy the t-shirt and wear jeans to work or school on Jeans for Genes day.''
