Katie Holmes Wants Big New York Fashion Week Show

Katie Holmes is planning a big show for New York Fashion Week.

The 33-year-old actress has chosen to present her clothing label Holmes & Yang - which she founded with design partner Jeanne Yang in 2009 - at the Lincoln Center during New York Fashion Week this September, under the watchful eyes of the world's most influential fashion names to prove how ''serious'' she is about her fashion venture.

A source told the New York Post newspaper: ''This is a big deal for Katie to show in the tents, under the full attention of The Fashion Editors and the glare of the media scrutiny.

''They could have done a small show elsewhere, so this proves she and Jeanne are very serious about their business.''

The ready-to-wear line is stocked in exclusive boutiques including Barneys in New York and Harvey Nichols in London.

Katie has previously described her collection as basics with a twist to suit everyone from ''rock stars to heads of state''.

The star is concentrating on her career following her divorce from Tom Cruise, which was finalised yesterday (22.08.12).

Holmes & Yang's 2013 collection will be shown on September 9.
