She tells Britain's Hello! magazine, "With his blessing I'm talking for the first time about the rollercoaster ride of raising a child with Asperger's...
"Based on my own experiences, the book also draws on the lives of parents like me, caught in the soul-destroying struggle to get the right educational and medical help. My son had so many tests he must have thought he was being drafted into the elite moon mission astronaut program."
But Lette admits she's proud of how her son has thrived as he copes with his condition.
She adds, "My charming, clever son is volunteering at Oxfam and studying to become the world's quirkiest sports commentator. He and I hope my novel helps destigmatise the condition and promote tolerance, understanding and acceptance."
