Kathy Bates Reveals Secret Battle With Cancer
"I was contracted to go into a movie at that time, Little Black Book with Brittany Murphy, who I miss very much," said Bates, continuing "My doctors at the time, they had to get insurance approval and all of that so I was very quiet about it and had to go back to work right away."Bates was last seen on the well-received Woody Allen flick 'Midnight In Paris,' and revealed that she's kept her illness quiet for personal reasons, admitting that she admired those who could be open about it, but stating "Nobody else really knows what you're going through except another cancer patient. Even though your family's supportive and surrounds you, I just got to the point where I would go to chemo by myself and just really go through it on my own." Bates has had a hugely decorative career since making her film debut in 1971, really coming into her own from the 90s onwards in movies like 'Fried Green Tomatoes,' 'Primary Colors,' 'Annie' and 'About Schmidt.'
