Kathryn Bigelow - Kathryn Bigelow Starts Work On 'Kill Bin Laden'
Kathryn Bigelow, the Oscar-winning director of 'The Hurt Locker', has started work on a new movie about the hunt for Osama Bin Laden, who was killed by U.S. forces in Pakistan on Sunday (2nd April 2011). Kathryn Bigelow and her team are currently casting the movie, which has the working title 'Kill Bin Laden', reports Deadline.com
Although Navy Seals successfully killed the Al Qaeda leader last week, Bigelow's movie is expected to focus on a previous unsuccessful mission to assassinate Bin Laden. It has been reported that Bigelow and the screenwriter Mark Boal have been working on the project for some time, although news of the movie's progress first arose after the elusive fugitive was finally tracked down on Sunday. It is rumoured that Boal may now rewrite the film's script to include the successful raid on the Pakistani compound where Bin Laden was eventually killed. Shooting on the movie is expected to get underway this summer, with a release date tentatively scheduled for late 2012.
Kathryn Bigelow is also scheduled to begin shooting her action-adventure movie 'Triple Frontier' later this year. The film, currently in pre-production, focuses on a story set in the border zone between Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil. Tom Hanks and Johnny Depp have been rumoured to appear in the project.
