Kate Winslet Wears Stella Mccartney At Premiere

Kate Winslet wowed the crowds at this week's 'Mildred Pierce' premiere, wearing a polka dot Stella Mccartney dress.Kate Winslet, the British actress who stars as the eponymous 'Mildred Pierce' in the forthcoming HBO mini-series, stole the show at the New York premiere on Monday (21st March 2011), reports the UK's Daily Mail.Winslet dazzled on the red carpet in the all-new MCCartney frock, which made its debut on the runway at Paris Fashion Week earlier this month. The 35-year-old's hair was swept up and her flawless complexion was complimented by pale makeup. Winslet is the spokeswoman for the beauty brand 'Lancome' and she recently discussed the virtues of a 'good lipstick', saying, "I do think that lipstick is the best friend of absolute femininity... and I do also think there's something happening right now in the cosmetic industry, which is that we're seeing the big come-back of a great lipstick". The Oscar winning actress certainly had competition on the red carpet, with co-star Evan Rachel Wood looking elegant in a plum coloured long sleeve Elie Saab cocktail dress. Wood plays Winslet's on-screen daughter in the new five-part mini-series, which is adapted from the 1941 novel by James M. Cain.

Kate Winslet recently completed work on Roman Polanski's forthcoming comedy drama 'Carnage', about two sets of parents who decide to have a cordial meeting after their sons are involved in a schoolyard brawl. The movie also stars Jodie Foster and Christoph Watlz and will be released in 2012.
