Kate Moss: Teenage Modelling Gave Me Anxiety Issues

Ahead of the release of her autobiography, fashion superstar Kate Moss revealed the deepest traumas of her career and personal life in a tell-all interview with Vanity Fair.

The British model, best known for her remarkably slim figure, told the publication how she used to 'lock [herself] in the toilet and cry' when she was ask to do nude shots aged just 16 years old after being scouted at 14. 'They were like, 'If you don't do it, then we're not going to book you again'', she revealed. Moss hit big-time stardom with the 1992 Calvin Klein campaign that saw her appear alongside 'Boogie Nights' actor Mark Wahlberg. However, this wasn't something she found particularly fun either. 'I had a nervous breakdown when I was 17 or 18, when I had to go and work with Marky Mark and Herb Ritts [photographer]', she said. 'It didn't feel like me at all. I felt really bad straddling this buff guy. I didn't like it.' She explained that the experience and the pressure of the industry caused her to have severe anxiety issues that left her bedbound for a fortnight, with doctors even offering her Valium prescriptions. 'Nobody takes care of you mentally. There's a massive pressure to do what you have to do', she insisted. 

The 38-year-old also discusses how her four year relationship with Hollywood superstar Johnny Depp helped her cope with the intensity of fame and their subsequent split left her broken hearted for many years.
