Kate Middleton - Kate Middleton Set For 80'S Themed Birthday Party?
A spokeperson for St. James' Palace has revealed to the UK's Metro newspaper that Kate Middleton 's 30th birthday celebrations will be a "low key and private" affair this year. Last year, Kate (or Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge), married Prince William in a lavish ceremony that was viewed by 24 million people in the UK alone.
Kate's sister, Pippa Middleton recently arranged an extravagant 'kata' party in the grounds of their parents' Berkshire home on New Year's Eve. The hire of the unusual tent, which Pippa had erected for friends and family to party in, reportedly cost in the region of $6,000 to hire. Grazia magazine recently reported that Pippa and Kate's brother-in-law Prince Harry are planning a big '80s themed party for the newly-wed Duchess' 30th birthday. However, the report from the royal spokesperson today (January 6, 2012) seems to contradict the Grazia article.
Staff at the palace may, however, be trying to divert media attention away from the idea of the party being organised by Prince Harry, who has caused controversy in the past with his party antics. In 2005, he went to a fancy dress party dressed as a Nazi and sparked outrage. More recently, though, he has been spotted socialising in a more respectable manner, with the likes of David Beckham and James Corden in London's Mayfair clubs.
