Kasabian Watched England Play Sweden With Rival Soccer Fans
The Club Foot hitmakers managed to catch England's second game in the 2012 European Football Championship when it was screened at Sweden's Hultsfred Festival after they wrapped up their set.
Bassist Chris Edwards admits it was thrilling to watch the nail-biting game while standing next to thousands of Swedish fans.
He tells NME.com, "The game was straight after our Hultsfred set. We... watched it from the disabled platform overlooking the second stage. Because the festival was in Sweden, instead of putting a band on during the game they put a massive screen up so we watched it with about 20,000 Sweden fans."
The England side managed a 3-2 victory after a tense showdown, but Edwards insists he felt confident in his home team all along.
He adds, "I knew the (England) boys would do it. They played the best I've seen them play with this team and it can only get better with (striker Wayne) Rooney coming back... We can go into the next game now with our heads held high and a lot of confidence."
The England team will face off with co-hosts Ukraine in its third Euro 2012 match on Tuesday (19Jun12).
