Kasabian - Kasabian Want To Headline Glastonbury

Kasabian want to headline Glastonbury in 2013.

The 'Days are Forgotten' rockers' ultimate goal would be to headline the festival - one of the biggest in Europe, held in Southern England - when it returns after taking a year break in 2012.

Singer Tom Meighan told the Daily Star newspaper: "It would have been brilliant to play Glastonbury but all we need is a phone call from [organiser] Michael Eavis and we'll be there for 2013.

Guitarist Sergio Pizzorno added: "One thing I really want to do before all this ends is to headline Glastonbury as we've always had an incredible time playing there. Hopefully it'll happen.

"The one thing you need to pull off a good Glastonbury headline show is f***ing good tunes and we've got enough of them to do that."

Kasabian- who have just released their fourth album 'Velociraptor!' - have a long history performing at Glastonbury, playing the main stage in 2007 and 2009, and the second stage in 2004 and 2005.

Tom also recently said the band don't want to play as a support act at other band's show's anymore, after performing for an unresponsive U2 crowd on their 260 Degree tour last year.

He said: "I didn't take in anything supporting them, the gigs were horrible, worst ever. U2 fans are cardboard cut-outs. I didn't learn anything because that's just a f***ing different level."
